Managing unsaved numbers in Mac Messages is tedious. You can use Claude and a few screenshots to automatically generate complete contact cards and organize your inbox.
My Messages app fills up with texts from unsaved numbers and businesses. Creating contact cards by hand is exactly the kind of data entry I want to avoid.
Claude Cowork has Connectors that talk to Messages and Contacts on macOS. One catch: Claude can only reliably read a thread if the sender is already saved in your contacts. Unsaved numbers are hit or miss. So you need contacts before the AI can use them, and you need the AI to make the contacts. Annoying loop.

Enable the Messages and Contacts connectors for Claude on your Mac. Then paste this:
I'm going to give you names of people that have sent me texts and some text from the text and I need you to add them to my contacts. Preferably, if they're from a business, I'd like you to get an image or logo of their business and add that to the contact as well.
Take screenshots of the Messages UI showing the conversations you care about. Drag them into Claude. It reads the text, pulls out names, and creates contact cards on your Mac. First pass takes a few minutes. After that my inbox stops looking like a pile of phone numbers.
Once those numbers are on contact cards, Claude can actually reference them across email, calendar, and future message threads. The connectors work the way you'd expect them to if you'd done the boring setup work yourself.
