Editing and Options
On iPhone and iPad, tap the message to edit it, then tap Done. Use the visible Options button for controls; the two-finger gesture also opens Options, and shaking can undo. On Mac, click to edit or use Options; right-click or Control-click also opens the menu. On Apple TV, Play/Pause opens text editing, and the Menu button opens Options. Apple TV’s menu contains editing, clear, undo and animation controls.
Size, rotation and appearance
Giant Text sizes letters to fit the available display. Shorter messages can appear larger. On supported platforms, Options includes line count, font, spacing, theme and appearance controls. The iPhone display intentionally turns text sideways to use the long edge; its rotation control changes the direction. The full theme and display controls are not available on Apple TV.
Animations
Options lets you select a still display or the available text animations. Where shown, the intensity control adjusts the effect. Available controls vary by platform.
Saving and undo
The app saves your current message locally. If you clear or edit it accidentally, open Options and choose Undo when available. Undo history is for the current session. For the largest readable letters, keep messages short; editing limits vary by platform.
Widget and external display
The widget reads the message from shared local app storage. The operating system controls refresh timing. Open the app to update the current message, and remove and re-add the widget if it remains stale. Your operating system’s screen mirroring can show your chosen message on another display where available.
Connection and privacy
Typing and displaying a message work offline. No account is required. The app has no advertising or analytics SDK. Local data, system backups and user-directed display sharing are explained in the privacy policy.
Getting help
When reporting a problem, include the device, operating system, app version and the steps that caused it. You do not need to include private message text to describe a problem.
