Pelicans on Bicycles

Every model on this page was asked the same eleven words, “Generate an SVG of a pelican riding a bicycle”, and nothing else. Simon Willison started this. The difference in my version is where I ask.

I ask from inside the coding tools I use every day, not from a bare API call. Claude Code, Codex, Cursor, Antigravity, and OpenCode. For each model I pick the harness that best matches how I actually use it, so what you see is the model the way I experience it, with the system prompt and tools it normally carries.

Those tools are how I build real things. Sometimes that means silly games on this site, like QWOP Unicorn or Sundae Rush. Sometimes it is an app my wife asked for. Right now it is “Spider-Man Minecraft,” which my six-year-old has been talking about for a month. A pelican riding a bicycle is not far from the images I actually need generated.

When the models get good enough that a pelican on a bicycle stops being interesting, I will ask for animation instead. Nobody really knows how a pelican would pedal a bicycle, which makes it a good problem to hand to a model that has to work it out.
