Tailor support

Help with Tailor for macOS and iPhone. Updated October 1, 2026. Developer: Nathan Fennel.

Getting started

Add your profile and work history to the Experience Bank, then create a job application and add its job description. You can organize your career library locally without a Tailor account. Optional AI tools can help tailor a resume or cover letter after you accept the current service disclosure.

Using online features

If an AI action fails, check your internet connection, Settings > Terms of Service, and Settings > API. Confirm the selected service and configuration. If you use your own OpenAI key, check that it is valid and has available usage. A custom server may require its own credentials. Local editing does not require an AI request.

Online actions can send profile information, job descriptions, drafts, selected files or URLs to the configured service and OpenAI. Fields hidden on an exported resume can still be included in an AI request. The service retains some caches and usage records. Read the Tailor privacy policy for the specific data flows and retention limits. In Settings > Terms of Service, Disable AI Features stops new AI requests; it cannot recall requests already sent.

Company logos

In prepared iOS 1.0 build 11 and macOS 1.2 build 11, Settings > API includes an optional "Online company logos and colors" choice. New logo downloads use your own Logo.dev publishable key. Local initials and existing cached images work with this choice off. Online website colors also require AI sharing. Read the privacy explanation before enabling it. Older installed versions do not have this new control.

Backups and local data

Settings > Data includes export, import and snapshot tools. Keep a backup before replacing or restoring your library. Your career library is stored on the device; Tailor does not provide full-library cloud sync. Optional signature handoff through iCloud is separate from library backup.

Delete Local Library removes the local library's database records. API settings and Keychain keys, backups and exports, retained imported files, iCloud signature copies and provider records are separate and may remain. See the privacy policy before using deletion controls.
