If This Then Lunch

The whole app is “what's within a fifteen-minute walk of me right now,” so it needs your location while it's open. It asks for While Using the App permission only, searches Apple Maps on your device, and never sends your location to us. See the privacy policy.

On purpose. The app ranks everything within the walking budget and shows the top five, favoring places you haven't visited recently. Fewer, better options beat an endless list when you're hungry.

It deprioritizes that place for a few weeks so somewhere new rises to the top. Swipe a row in the list (or use a place's quick actions) to mark it. You can clear all visit marks from the toolbar at any time.

The app shows an Open Settings button when location is unavailable, or go to iOS Settings → Privacy & Security → Location Services → If This Then Lunch and choose While Using the App.

Tap any pin on the map or row in the list and the app opens Apple Maps with walking directions to that place. Nothing extra to configure.

Usually one of three things: location access is denied (see above), you're somewhere with very few restaurants inside a fifteen-minute walk, or the network is flaky and the Apple Maps search timed out. Pull down or tap Refresh to try again.

It shows today's suggestion and your recent lunch history, and can open walking directions from your wrist. Install it from the Watch app on your iPhone.

Turn them on in the app's settings and pick a time. Reminders are ordinary local notifications scheduled on your device — turn them off in the same place, or in iOS Settings → Notifications.

Nothing. The app is free with no in-app purchases, no subscription, and no ads.

Clear visit marks from the app's toolbar, or delete the app to remove everything it stored. There is nothing to delete on our side — we don't hold your data.
